OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Meetings have been scheduled to discuss gym additions for five elementary schools in the Oklahoma City Public Schools system as a part of the MAPS for Kids improvement program.

The meetings run June 2-6 and will allow parents, teachers, students and residents to review the final design for the gymnasium additions. Nearly $1.4 million in district school bond funds have been tabbed for each site.

In 2007, voters passed a $248.3 million bond issue to further improve public schools across the district. The Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area Public Schools Trust manages $114.9 million of those funds, which are allocated to gym, classroom and stadium projects.
