LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Nearly 70 University of Wyoming employees and athletes are volunteering to help in the Carbon County flood fight.

The UW volunteers are expected to arrive on Friday.

UW Associated Vice President for Operations Mark Collins says the UW contingent will fill sandbags and perform other duties.

The UW group will join 150 Wyoming National Guardsmen and others in Saratoga working to hold back the swollen North Platte River.

The last time UW volunteers assisted with flood relief efforts was in 2010 on the Laramie River on Laramie’s west side.
