TEXAS CITY, Texas (AP) - A man has been arrested after police accused him of stealing from a Southeast Texas park a statue of a young boy swinging a baseball bat.

The Galveston County Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1iP3on4 ) police accuse Adam Durwood Curry of stealing the statue from a Texas City park last month.

The statue, called “Out of the Park,” was recovered at the Easy Cash Pawn and Jewelry store in suburban Houston. The statue had been described as a family heirloom when it was sold to the pawn shop.



Curry, who’s 41 and from Houston, has been charged with felony theft and is in the Galveston County Jail with bond set at $80,000.

Police are still working to arrest a 45-year-old woman they suspect of being Curry’s accomplice.
