RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The N.C. Center for Missing Persons is hosting a seminar designed to help law enforcement, attorneys and court clerks deal with parental abductions.

Friday’s seminar is presented by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. It’s being held at the Joint Forces Headquarters Auditorium in Raleigh.

A statement from the patrol says the seminar is intended to train the law officers, family law attorneys, district attorneys and clerks of court on the center’s mission and function to assist in abductions. It’s also designed to tell people how to properly handle such cases correctly and quickly.

Among the scheduled speakers is Ed Duhart, a father whose son was taken from Guilford County by his mom in 2009. After four years, Duhart’s son was returned from Kansas.
