New York City has declared war — on rats.
The Big Apple will spend $600,000 for “rat indexing” to track and reduce the population of rodents in the city, some “the size of small dogs and cats,” a local CBS affiliate reported Wednesday.
“They’re taking over, it’s madness,” another woman told the news outlet.
A sanitation worker added that he has to shake and kick bags of garbage before transporting them out of fear that he’ll be bitten.
