GLENWOOD, Iowa (AP) - A former western Iowa teacher has been arrested, accused of having a sexual relationship with a student and of giving alcohol to a minor.

The Council Bluffs Daily Nonpareil reports (https://bit.ly/1m0X2TJ ) that 38-year-old Russell Crouch, who had been a social studies teacher at Glenwood High School, was arrested Friday. He is charged with supplying alcohol to a minor and sexual exploitation by a school employee - both misdemeanors.

If convicted, Crouch faces up to three years in prison and would have to register as a sex offender.

Crouch’s bond has been set at $3,000. A court date has not been set.

Crouch was placed on paid administrative leave on May 19 and resigned two days later.

He could not be reached for comment Saturday.
