DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - The Iowa National Guard plans to host a rededication ceremony to commemorate a newly renovated readiness center in Dubuque.

The ceremony for the Dubuque Readiness Center is scheduled Thursday. Federal, state and local officials are expected to attend.

The Dubuque Readiness Center began its $2.3 million renovation project in October 2012. It now features new classrooms, a new water heating system and new windows and doors. There’s also a new kitchen, pantry, fitness room and loading dock.

The center was originally constructed in 1985 and received a partial renovation in 2006. About 200 soldiers are assigned there.
