FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. (AP) - A Michigan woman is dead after officials say she jumped off of the bridge at New River Gorge National River.

The Fayette County Sherriff’s office received a call around 5:30 a.m. Saturday about a car that had been parked on the bridge.

WCHS-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1hmMcvE) that when deputies arrived on the scene, one of them said he saw the 36-year-old woman jump from the bridge.

The woman’s name has not been released.
