OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Police in Oklahoma City have arrested a man suspected of exchanging gunfire with an officer.

The Oklahoman reports (https://bit.ly/Q49Dwf ) that police responded to a disturbance call about 2 a.m. Sunday. Capt. Dexter Nelson says that an intoxicated man allegedly entered a store and threatened an employee with a knife. The suspect had left by the time officers arrived.

Police found the suspect a short time later, but Nelson says the suspect pulled a handgun from his waste and began firing when an officer tried to make contact. The officer returned gunfire and the suspect ran away. Police arrested 25-year-old Gerad Keith Gravitt a few hours later.

The officer was not injured and it was not immediately clear if the suspect was shot. The officer’s car was struck at least once.
