CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - Democratic Executive Councilor Debora Pignatelli is not seeking re-election to a fifth term representing District 5.

Pignatelli announced Monday she is retiring due to a short-term health issue which would make it hard for her to campaign in the large district. Pignatelli said it is time to take a break after 25 years of public service as a state representative, state senator and executive councilor.

Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley praised Pignatelli as a strong champion for the people.
