RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A western South Dakota man is facing two assault charges for punching a Wal-Mart security guard and police over a foot-long sandwich.

The Rapid City Journal (https://bit.ly/1nf4fFt ) reports that 23-year-old Jacee Quick Bear lost his temper and punched the guard when a store employee asked to see his receipt to verify that he bought the sandwich.

Police caught up with the man after he ran across the street. Authorities say the man then threw punches at police and had to be pepper sprayed.

The Rapid City man has been charged with simple assault, simple assault on law enforcement, possession of a controlled substance and a previous warrant.
