NEW YORK (AP) - A 62-year-old driver has been arrested in a crash that killed a 9-year-old girl and injured five other people in Brooklyn.

The New York Police Department said Monday that Kenneth Palache was booked on charges of criminally negligent homicide, leaving the scene of an accident and unlicensed driving.

It’s unclear whether he has a lawyer. No working phone number could immediately be found for his address in Huntington, New York.

Police say Rebecca Ramnarine was riding in a sedan that Palache’s minivan hit at an intersection Sunday evening. They say the minivan also hit another vehicle.

Richard Ramnarine tells the Daily News his daughter was in a friend’s car, and he and his wife were in another car nearby. He says they saw Rebecca’s body being pulled from the wreckage.
