HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a woman lost control of her SUV, drove over two residential front lawns and crashed into a house, setting her vehicle and part of the house on fire.

It began around 5 a.m. Tuesday in Huntington Station.

Suffolk police say 22-year-old Dinia Chirinos careened onto a lawn at 98 Hillwood Drive, damaging the landscaping and a tree. She then hit a house at 100 Hillwood, damaged plantings and a fence. Police say she then crashed into a house at 101 Hillwood.

Police say the SUV caught fire and damaged the front of the house. A 59-year-old resident escaped injury.

Chirinos was charged with driving without a license. She told police her brakes failed.

She refused medical attention.

Her SUV was impounded for a safety check.
