MENASHA, Wis. (AP) - The burial for a premature infant who died just hours after he was born has been postponed while Menasha police investigate the death.

Officers showed up at the baby’s funeral after they were notified of concerns about how the child died. Officer Aaron Zemlock says police waited at the funeral home and did not disrupt the service Saturday. Zemlock says police were told there was bruising on the baby, but he says that could have been due to a number of medical conditions. Police are waiting for an autopsy report.

WLUK-TV (https://bit.ly/1ihtMu7 ) reports the baby was born prematurely by emergency cesarean section at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah on April 26. Zemlock says the medical examiner’s office was not contacted.
