LAKEWOOD, Colo. (AP) - Police say officers shot a man in Lakewood after he pointed an air gun at them.

The man was shot around 3 a.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart. His condition wasn’t immediately known.

Police spokesman Steve Davis says the man was in a car with a woman, who had called police to report a domestic dispute. She told dispatchers the man had a gun.

Officers were able to persuade the man to get out of the car but then say he drew the air gun on them, which they believed was a real gun.
