JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department plans a meeting to hear public comment on the state’s bicycle and pedestrian transportation plan.

The meeting is set for Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.

The highway department says more meetings will be held around the state.

The department says the plan was originally published in 1998. It serves as a blueprint for state agencies, local governments and other organizations to work toward improving the environment for bicyclists and pedestrians.
