PACIFIC CITY, Ore. (AP) - The Tillamook County, Oregon, sheriff says the body of a Portland man swept away last month on the Oregon coast has been recovered.
Sheriff Andy Long says 25-year-old James Alejandro was trying to walk a rope line between two large rock sections above the water on the north side of Cape Kiwanda near Pacific City. He was struck by a large wave and swept into the ocean on April 24.
Long says a 911 caller reported finding a body on the beach Sunday evening, about two miles south of Cape Lookout in Tillamook County.
