HOUMA, La. (AP) - School officials in Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes have repair lists ready in anticipation of several summer maintenance projects.

Marcus Danos, assistant maintenance and safety manager, says Lafourche schools have around $43,000 of work scheduled to be done over the next two months.

Danos said repairing elevated floors on portable classrooms will run the district around $12,000 in material, making it one of the largest projects this summer, second to gym repairs.

Terrebonne schools will also undergo some summer maintenance. School Superintendent Philip Martin tells The Courier (https://bit.ly/1fPrQdA ) the largest repair project will be putting a new roof on Village East Middle School. The project will cost the district around $750,000.
