Three people were found dead inside the million-dollar Tampa home of former tennis player James Blake after firefighters arrived on the scene to put out a massive blaze.

Mr. Blake, 34, was not at home at the time of the fire, which broke out early Wednesday morning, a local CBS affiliate reported.

Sports Illustrated reports that the owners were renting out the mansion.

Investigators are expected to be out at the scene for days trying to collect evidence, and their biggest fear is that much of it will be lost in the fire, which is reportedly still burning.

The identities of the three have not been released, and it is not apparent whether they died in the fire or from another cause.

Mr. Blake is married and has a 2-year-old daughter. He retired from competitive tennis in 2013 after a 14-year career.
