BOSTON (AP) - Gov. Deval Patrick is heading to Washington to discuss the state’s recent efforts to create economic partnership with countries in Latin America.

The Massachusetts Democrat is scheduled to discuss his administration attempts to build what he called collaborative partnerships to promote job creation and expand economic opportunity.

He’s set to deliver his comments Wednesday at the 44th Washington Conference on the Americas.

In March, Patrick and several state officials embarked on a weeklong trade mission to Panama City and Mexico City to strengthen trade relationships.

Patrick won’t be the only Massachusetts Democrat at the conference.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will also deliver remarks at the event, which is co-hosted by the Department of State and the Council of the Americas.

Kerry is the former Democratic U.S. senator from Massachusetts.
