PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A Providence man has been charged with raping a woman who was left naked on city street last month.

The Providence Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1fOOum4 ) 34-year-old Jose Guevara has been charged with assault, sexual assault and larceny in the April 29th incident.

The woman told police she was attacked and raped after two men in a car stopped to ask her about a friend.

Police say the men let her out of the car on Cranston Street, but refused to return her clothes or her cell phone.

Officers say Guevara’s car was stopped a short time later and he was identified by the woman as one of her attackers.

He has denied being involved, and told police he was just driving around after an argument with his girlfriend.
