DETROIT (AP) - Officials say problems with Detroit’s municipal power system have forced some city schools to close.

The Detroit Public Schools district announced that 10 schools were sending students home Wednesday due to power problems and two others were closed.

Last week, 21 public schools lost service in a storm, and 10 were closed for two days. City officials blamed damage from strong winds that swept through Detroit for that power outage, but also said that copper theft has made the power system unstable.
