MSNBC host Alex Wagner said Thursday morning that Democrats are feeling pressure to endorse Hillary Rodham Clinton out of fear of being blacklisted by the “Clinton Industrial Complex.”

“Well, this is like — the myth making and also the fearmongering around the Clintons — like, ‘Don’t cross them, otherwise a door in the floor opens up,’” she said on “Morning Joe.”

Clinton, along with her husband the former president, reportedly built an “enemies list” after she lost the Democrats’ presidential nomination to President Obama in 2008.

“I think there’s been a lot of reporting about the lists they keep,” Miss Wagner said. “And we are led to believe that there is this kind of Clinton Industrial Complex where names are kept, sins are recorded. Whether or not they are poring over those notes, you know, on a nightly basis, would be very much up to the Clintons.

“There’s a feeling that you have to kind of plant your flag firmly for the Clintons,” she said. “Especially now.”

According to the book “HRC: State Secrets and the Rebirth of Hillary Clinton,” by Jonathan Allen of Politico and Amie Parnes of The Hill, the Clintons kept a political hit list, assigning numerical grades to each Democratic member of Congress. The worst grades were of course assigned to lawmakers who chose Mr. Obama.
