DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - A 17-year-old arrested in connection to the shooting death of a man in Des Moines is being held on $1 million cash bond.
The teen was arrested Saturday morning following the death of 24-year-old Aaron Michael McHenry, of Rockford, Illinois. He faces a first-degree murder charge and is being held at the Marshall County Jail in Marshalltown.
The Associated Press generally does not name minors accused of crimes.
Authorities say the teen fatally shot McHenry, who was found Friday with at least one gunshot wound to the head. Police say the shooting may have been related to narcotics.
The Des Moines Register reports (https://dmreg.co/11buWm5 ) the teen is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 19.
