WASHINGTON (AP) - Three District of Columbia men have been sentenced to between 20 and 25 years in prison for their roles in a drive-by shooting that left 13 people injured in northwest Washington.
Twenty-year-old Andrew Allen was sentenced Friday to 25 years in D.C. Superior Court. Twenty-two-year-old Keith Bobb and 21-year-old Arnell Smith got 20 years.
Each pleaded guilty in July to 13 counts of assault with intent to kill and other offenses.
The shooting occurred March 11, 2013, when gunmen in two cars opened fire on a crowd standing outside an apartment building. Prosecutors say the violence stemmed from a long conflict between rival groups.
U.S. Attorney Ronald Machen says Allen, Bobb and Smith got the punishment they deserve for unleashing “terror and chaos” on a crowd of innocent people.
