AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) - An Air Force Academy cadet who was allegedly sexually assaulted by another cadet has said she would support some level of response less than a court-martial.

The woman testified Monday at a hearing to determine whether Cadet Brock W. Mangum should face a court-martial. No decision has been announced.

The Colorado Springs Gazette reported (https://tinyurl.com/mmdu5ux ) the woman testified she had fallen asleep while watching TV with Mangum and awoke to find him assaulting her.

She said she didn’t report the incident because she was embarrassed and didn’t want to believe she had been assaulted.

Testimony indicates Mangum was investigated and charged after telling a counselor about the incident.

The Associated Press generally does not identify victims of alleged sexual assault. The Gazette did not identify her, citing a similar policy.
