OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma City police have released the name of a man who was killed during a shootout with officers over the weekend.

Capt. Paco Balderrama said Monday that Sgts. Tyrel Hynd, Matt Wallace and Jeff Fale are on administrative leave following the shooting that killed Jeremy Michael Sherbon.

Balderrama says Hynd had responded to a convenience store robbery at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday and spotted Sherbon. He says Hynd and Sherbon fought and Sherbon was able to take Hynd’s gun and opened fire as Wallace and Fale arrived.

Balderrama says Wallace and Fale then exchanged gunfire with Sherbon, striking and killing him.

Balderrama says none of the officers was shot, but Hynd was injured during the fight and was treated and released at a local hospital.
