ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Ann Arbor police say an officer fatally shot a 40-year-old woman after she confronted officers with a knife.

The department says the woman was shot after officers late Sunday responded to a report of a domestic disturbance and were confronted by the woman.

The Ann Arbor News reports (https://bit.ly/1uSSCIp ) one officer fired at her and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name wasn’t immediately released.



State police are investigating.
