ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (AP) - A Rocky Mount teen has been charged in an October crash that killed one of his friends.

The Rocky Mount Telegram reported (https://bit.ly/1tTVMJ0) that 18-year-old Jaequez Jones has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to have a driver’s license.

The Oct. 26 wreck on U.S. 64 killed 17-year-old Tiara Hinton and injured Jones and two other teens.



Authorities said Jones was driving a car that collided with a passing SUV went off the right side of the road.

It was not clear if Jones has a lawyer.
