CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming U.S. Sens. Mike Enzi and John Barrasso are looking ahead to their committee assignments now that Republicans have regained the majority in the Senate.

Enzi ranks 25th in the Senate for seniority. Enzi spokesman Dan Head declined to comment on Enzi’s specific committee aspirations, saying he doesn’t want to jeopardize Enzi’s chances.

Enzi serves on five committees: the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee; Budget Committee; Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee; Finance Committee; and Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee.

Barrasso ranks 53rd for seniority. Barrasso serves on the Indian Affairs Committee and spokeswoman Laura Mengelkamp says Barrasso would like to become chairman of that committee.
