MARENGO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a 54-year-old driver has died after striking a dear along Interstate 94 in southern Michigan and being hit by another vehicle after he got out of his car.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports (https://bcene.ws/10Um9nO ) Carl Bolden of Battle Creek was killed in the Saturday crash in Calhoun County’s Marengo Township.
State police say Bolden’s vehicle struck a deer and the car stopped in the left lane of the highway. Bolden left the vehicle and was standing nearby in the median when he was hit by a swerving vehicle. The driver and passengers in that vehicle weren’t injured.
The crash is under investigation.
