DENVER (AP) - A judge has set $1 million bail for a 20-year-old man accused of shooting an Aurora police officer during a traffic stop.
The Denver Post reports (https://dpo.st/1uNr5qT ) Jahvell Daquan Forrest’s bail was set in court Thursday, but he is being held without bond in connection with charges in another case.
Forrest, who was arrested Tuesday, is facing an attempted murder charge in the shooting of Officer Ryan Burns, an 11-year-veteran.
Burns was shot in the leg when he and another officer were walking to the suspect’s car during a traffic stop Nov. 14. Police say a man fired several shots from the driver’s side window, striking Burns. One of the officers fired back as the suspect fled.
