CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A Colorado man has pleaded not guilty to a federal charge of supplying heroin that killed a Cheyenne man early this year.
Federal Magistrate Kelly Rankin of Cheyenne on Thursday ordered 43-year-old Shane M. Martinez of Fort Collins, Colorado, to remain in detention pending trial before U.S. District Judge Alan B. Johnson in late January.
Federal prosecutors allege Martinez supplied heroin that resulted in the death of 19-year-old Trevor Obermueller in March in Cheyenne.
Rankin told Martinez that he faces a sentence of 20 years to life in prison if convicted.
