Lodi woman accused of beating child with belt

HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities have accused a 23-year-old Lodi woman of beating a 2-year-old with a belt.

Mynasia Petty is held on $100,000 bail, charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Workers at a daycare center called authorities after noticing bruising on the child’s legs. The child was examined and the single student was arrested.

Authorities did not say what Petty’s relationship was to the child.
