MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Delta Air Lines will eliminate dozens of jobs in Memphis as it cuts four nonstop routes next year.

The Commercial Appeal (https://bit.ly/1xKKgDP ) reports that the airline will scrap nonstop routes from Memphis to Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Dallas/Fort Worth and Washington Reagan National. It plans to add seasonal service to Cancun, Salt Lake City and Las Vegas.

The airline notified the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority of flight changes that will affect 84 Memphis employees.

Delta told airport officials that employees affected by the service cuts would be offered jobs elsewhere in the company.

A Delta spokesman said the reductions are being done to “discontinue unprofitable flying.”
