LAS VEGAS (AP) - FedEx officials say a cargo plane is back in service after a scare that prompted its pilot to make an emergency landing in Las Vegas.

McCarran International Airport spokeswoman Christine Crews says the plane heading from Ontario, California to Memphis, Tennessee landed a little after 7 a.m. Friday, after the crew warned of a possible fire in a cargo area.

Crews says firefighters responded to the plane, but determined that there was no fire and none of the three people on board were injured.

The plane was towed to a FedEx site at the airport, and FedEx spokesman Scott Fielding said Friday afternoon that it was back in service.

Crews says the plane had been showing fire indicator lights. Fielding says it wasn’t immediately clear why that happened.
