SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The San Francisco man who federal authorities say operated an underground website that enabled drug dealers and users to connect is set to be transported to face charges in New York.
Blake Benthall has agreed to remain in custody until he appears in New York federal court, but there will be no court hearing in San Francisco on Friday.
Benthall’s attorney, public defender Daniel Blank, said his client may be transported sometime next week.
Authorities arrested the 26-year-old on Wednesday and charged him with operating an illicit website that generated $8 million in monthly sales. He appeared briefly in court Thursday but didn’t enter a plea.
