DOVER, Del. (AP) - The Delaware State Police say a trooper already on suspension was arrested in connection with a domestic altercation involving his wife.
Delaware State Police say Andrel Martinez was arrested Friday. Troopers say Martinez’s wife reported she was involved in a physical altercation with her husband Thursday at their home in Bridgeville.
Martinez was charged with strangulation, unlawful imprisonment, endangering the welfare of a child and other charges.
At the time of his arrest, Martinez was already suspended without pay and benefits as a result of a previous criminal investigation. In March, authorities said Martinez faced stalking and other charges for harassing an ex-girlfriend.
He remains suspended without pay and benefits. A telephone message left at a number listed for Martinez was not immediately returned Saturday.
