RAYMONDVILLE, Texas (AP) — Two Mexican citizens have been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of an off-duty Border Patrol agent and in the wounding of his father.

The Valley Morning Star reports (https://bit.ly/1sNk7CG ) 30-year-old Gustavo Tijerina-Sandoval and 40-year-old Ismael Hernandez-Vallejo have been charged with capital murder and attempted capital murder. The indictment was filed in the 197th state District court on Tuesday.

If convicted of capital murder, both could face the death penalty.

A message seeking information about whether the men had an attorney was left with the court.
