PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (AP) - Police in northern New York say a second search of an Albany man found carrying drugs turned up more than 200 bags of heroin hidden on his person.

Clinton County Sheriff David Favro tells WIRY-AM that 19-year-old Daquan Johnson of Albany was stopped Monday afternoon in Plattsburgh by officers looking for a suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing.

Police say during an initial search they found Johnson carrying 20 bags of heroin, 8 grams of crack cocaine and 7 grams of powder cocaine. Favro says a more thorough search at the county jail discovered 200-plus bags of heroin Johnson had hidden in his groin area.

He’s being held in the county jail on $20,000 bail. His lawyer, Joseph Mucia (MYOO’-shuh) says Johnson has pleaded not guilty.
