LONGVIEW, Texas (AP) - Autopsy results show a 15-year-old East Texas boy sought after an attempted robbery was shot five times by police after he allegedly opened fire on officers.
Results released Tuesday also show Justin Aguilar had marijuana in his system during the exchange of gunfire with Longview police officers.
Police have said the teen tried to rob a convenience store March 9 when he was confronted minutes later by officers. Investigators say Aguilar opened fire, shattering a window on a patrol car, before police returned fire.
The autopsy determined the Longview teen died as a results of gunshot wounds.
Officers involved in the shooting were put on administrative leave. Gregg County grand jurors are expected to consider the case next month.
