LAS VEGAS (AP) - A veteran Las Vegas police officer has been suspended from the job and arrested on felony child pornography charges.
Records show that 37-year-old James W. Henry surrendered Thursday at the Clark County jail, where he was being held without bail on a judge’s order pending an initial court appearance.
Police say Henry is a 12-year patrol officer assigned to Convention Center area and the Las Vegas Strip.
He was placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of the case.
It wasn’t immediately clear if he had an attorney.
Henry was named in an arrest warrant issued Wednesday accusing him of 20 child pornography possession and distribution charges. He also was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim.
The police department says the investigation began Oct. 2.
