HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - Henderson police say they’re investigating the apparent beating death of a man whose body was found in a makeshift homeless encampment.

Police say two men returned Thursday evening to find the 44-year-old man dead in a desert area near Lake Mead Parkway and Warm Springs Road.

Investigators say he appeared to have been beaten, but that an autopsy by the Clark County coroner’s office would determine the cause of death.

The man’s name wasn’t immediately made public.

Henderson city spokesman Keith Paul says the death is being investigated as the fourth homicide in Henderson this year.
