NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Newark police say they’ve arrested a 15-year-old male high school student for reporting a bomb threat.

Newark police say that the New Castle County 911 center received a call Friday at 7:30 a.m. reporting that there was a bomb inside the Newark High School. The school evacuated staff and students.

Police searched the school for explosives and found none and students went back into the school around 10 a.m.

Police say tips led them to the 15-year-old suspect and that he was arrested on one count of terroristic threatening causing a building evacuation.

Police also say that during the evacuation, a fight broke out between two 16-year-olds. Police say an officer attempted to break up the fight but had to use pepper spray. The teens were arrested for disorderly conduct.
