HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A Halloween-themed run and walk will be held in memory of a suburban Detroit woman whose boyfriend is accused in her slaying.
Sunday’s Halloween Zombie 5KRun/Walk at Lake St. Clair Metropark in Macomb County’s Harrison Township honors Theresa DeKeyzer of Warren. She disappeared in June and her body was found last month in a plastic drum.
Scott Wobbe has been charged with her murder. A not-guilty plea was entered for him this month at an arraignment.
Organizer Victoria Hargan tells The Macomb Daily (https://bit.ly/1D860HK ) she was planning the event when she learned of the 22-year-old’s death. It aims to help raise awareness about domestic violence, bullying and post-traumatic stress disorder.
A candlelight vigil is planned at dusk to celebrate the lives of DeKeyzer and other victims.
