Wendy Davis still has a few days to go before the election, but the Texas gubernatorial hopeful is almost out of money — at least in comparison to her Republican counterpart.

The Democrat is seen by the progressive base as its best hope to beat Republican Greg Abbott — but she only has $551,424 in cash left from the $7 million-plus she raised between Sept. 26 and Oct. 25, The Daily Caller reported, citing campaign filings.

Other news outlets report her cash-on-hand at $1.6 million, but NBC Dallas said that amount is actually both “the Davis campaign and groups contributing to the effort.”

For instance, Texas Victory Committee is listed on her latest filing with $400,000, and Battleground Texas, with $631,000, The Daily Caller reported.

But that’s very different from the $551,424 that’s listed for Ms. Davis alone — and in comparison, Mr. Abbott’s filing reports more than $13 million in the bank, The Daily Caller reported.
