GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) - Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a jail inmate who escaped Sunday night.
Thirty-two-year-old Travis Sandlin managed to get out while in an outdoor recreation area at about 10 p.m. Deputies found the fence damaged.
Sandlin was being held on drug, weapons and motor vehicle theft charges.
The sheriff’s department says automated telephone warnings were sent to more than 1,000 phones within a half-mile radius of the jail in Golden.
Deputies searched through the night for him but haven’t found any sign of him and welcome any tips from the public.
