Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has joined the ranks of a select few Americans to become Queen Elizabeth II’s newest selection for honorary knighthood.

The politico was made an “Honorary Knight of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire [for his] prodigious entrepreneurial and philanthropic endeavors” and efforts to bolster ties across the oceans, the British government said, CBS News reported.

Previous recipients of the same title include director Steven Spielberg, Microsoft founder Bill Gates and actress Angelina Jolie, CBS News reported.

Mr. Bloomberg won’t use the “sir” as part of his formal title, but will use the initials “KBE” after it, CBS News said. He was mayor between 2002 and 2013, and also heads up Bloomberg LP, a financial and investment information company.
