MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) - Muskogee County authorities say a body has been found in a burned vehicle.

Sheriff Charles Pearson told the Muskogee Phoenix (https://bit.ly/1rIE8ns ) that the Wednesday morning fire was so hot it melted the rims of the car and aluminum parts of the motor. Pearson says the body was so badly burned that it isn’t yet known if the body is that of a man or a woman.

Pearson says the vehicle identification number was also melted and the license plate was destroyed.

Firefighters were called to the fire shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday and discovered the body in the car - a Cadillac that Pearson says appears to be 8 to 10 years old.
