BERNIE, Mo. (AP) - Authorities have arrested an Arkansas man who they say led officers from six law enforcement agencies on a high-speed chase through southeast Missouri.
The Dexter Daily Statesman reports (https://bit.ly/1p65Top ) 50-year-old Wendall Coleman’s charges include driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and failure to drive on the right side of the road.
Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper J. K. Brooks says he tried to stop Coleman six miles south of Bernie on Friday. He says Coleman drove 130 mph in an area with a speed limit of 35 mph.
The pursuit ended near Dexter after authorities deflated the tires of his rental car. No injuries were reported.
Coleman’s bond is set at $20,000. It wasn’t immediately clear if he has an attorney.
